Job Description
We have an opportunity for an experienced Finance professional to join our team, based in Madrid.
 
ABOUT THE ROLE

Within this role, you will be responsible for the accounting and administrative tasks in settling from ground the financial framework of a new RE mandate of €350M, being necessary applying IFRS GAAP and Spanish for local purposes, taking care of the investors needs under a reporting, taxes, and return perspectives, to build and maintain financial statements, prepare general and standard journal entries, assist in budget development, and prepare standard accounting and financial reports for management.

ABOUT YOU
 
As our ideal candidate, you will be able to demonstrate the following:

Knowledge and Qualifications:
  • Qualified Accountant (ACA, CFA or by equivalent experience) with at least 5 years relevant post qualified experience in fund accounting (essential) 
  • Experience with SAP (essential) and an understanding of Yardi (desirable).
  • Understanding of VAT and CIT as well as Company Structures 
  • Working knowledge of IFRS and local GAAPs (essential) within the Real Estate sector (desirable).
  • Proficiency in MS Office packages, including the ability to manipulate and sort large volume of data in excel
  • Advanced English level and bilingual Spanish (essential), German, French or Portuguese (beneficial)

Experience & Skills:
  • Experience of working in a similar role within a fast paced multi-site business ideally within the Real Estate/ Student Accommodation sector
  • Demonstrated to prepare and explain financial data to business leaders and managers, team members, clients, internal and external auditors, and other business contacts.
  • Demonstrated management and supervisory skills sufficient to lead, direct, evaluate, and mentor subordinate team members and/or peers.
  • Strong team working and interpersonal skills 
  • Excellent communicator, with the ability to interpret and complex financial data.
  • Positive “can do” attitude with desire to learn, train and develop in the role
  •  Good attention to detail, taking pride in work
  • Self-starter with a methodical and organised approach, and the ability to work to deadlines and multi task, using initiative to prioritise
